I’ve been working on a showcase of our learning activities to go alongside our slideshow. I think trying out some of our activities will give parents and students a much better grasp of the system and teaching methodology than simply viewing a slideshow about the program – although I’ll be adding the slideshow once I get the audio finished up.![]()
Our lead programmer was out for the holidays, and unfortunately he didn’t fix the one glitch between our backend and frontend that prevented me from adding live students as I had hoped. I also decided that launching right before Christmas break was not the best idea marketing wise! As I have many thousands of people who have submitted their email to the website asking for Spanish learning info, I figured that was a good way to send a lot of email direct to the bottom of inboxes under a pile of holiday backlog.
I’ve tried to make this e-learning system as interactive for students as possible; meaning as little passive learning as possible. Students don’t learn by just watching and listening, even the most entertaining lessons are soon forgotten if they aren’t followed by hands on practice. So these activities are quite varied, and represent many months of development and testing. I’m sure we’ll keep refining them and adding new ones as well, but I think it’s a great start.
