I’ve found some incredible resources for Spanish animated picture books. As I spend many hours reading to my own kids, I know the impact that reading can have on them. It’s also one of the best ways to begin introducing Spanish sounds and vocabulary. At first I thought of trying to get the rights to some kids books and do a few animated readings myself, but that is a pretty huge project to take on and I have about 0 free minutes a day right now! So I did some searching online and quickly saw that this isn’t an original idea, and has been done quite well especially by the Tumblebooks people. I’ve included this info on the Wiki site that is still pretty much a private work in progress, but I’ll post this info again here – you can also see the Childtopia.com books by clicking on the menu to your right - “Animated Spanish Books”.

Burbank City Library Tumblebooks Animated Book Readings
This library has a subscription to the amazing Tumblebooks collection, which presents picturebooks and other longer stories in a fun animated way, with audio reading and highlighted text. A superb resource for reading with your kids in Spanish even if you don't know Spanish yourself, as you can turn the audio off after hearing it once or twice and try your hand at reading the material. Navigate to the page below and scroll down to click on the Tumblebooks button.
