Don’t know if I have any other fellow moms out there reading the blog, but just in case I thought I’d post a complaint about losing baby weight! :) These images of celebrities and others who seem to lose that weight within a month of giving birth have a tendency to make the rest of us feel like we must be the only ones who just can’t seem to shake the weight off without a fight.

For me I don’t seem to gain the unshakeable weight during the pregnancy. It’s after: dealing with the newborn sends me running to the candy counter every time! Well with Julia hitting the 4 month mark I’m finally on a diet. What I mainly had to do was stop OVER eating. For me that usually means doing a liquid fast for the first day. If I can’t get through a whole day with just liquids, I’m usually not ready to diet. But this time I did, and so far so good on about the 9th day now. The Sneaky Chef book and her Orange Puree have helped me get healthier things on my brain, so now instead of heading for the insta carbs I’m trying to actually eat veggies occasionally, and eat things like cottage cheese instead of a bagel.

I got this book called “Eat this Not That” at Costco and that has been a real eye opener. Who has the time to really read all of the labels, ingredients, portions, etc while trying to buy your family meals in any kind of reasonable time frame? They offer some great comparisons of foods that look about the same to the layperson like me. Here is a link to the Amazon listing for this book.
